HSEMS MEMBERS

Established in 1984 by 6 dedicated local residents who initially trained in a 40 hour Emergency Trauma Technician course, today HSEMS is a state certified BLS with part-time ALS service and has:

1 paramedic
4 EMT I's (basic)
1 EMT III (intermediate)
3 ETT's
1 dispatcher

 

Two of the original members who helped start the service in 1984 remain as volunteers:

Our Medical Director is Michael Levy, MD a well-known and respected emergency physician.

Dr. Levy was chosen as the 2004 Medical Director of the Year and presented with a plaque sat the state EMS symposium in November 2004.

 

Dr. Levy is also the medical director for the Anchorage Fire Department, the 210th Paratroopers  and other EMS related services.

Dr. Levy volunteers his time to lend us his expertise.
