About EMS in Hope, Alaska
Did you know that Hope Sunrise Emergency Medical Service responders ...

…
have gone thorough rigorous, state approved training and testing to
help ensure you are provided the best care possible by a state certified
or licensed care provider.
~ EMT, Paramedic and other special emergency medical courses that our
responders are currently trained, certified or licensed in has taught us
how to effectively and competently deal with a medical or trauma
emergency that you, a loved one or a visitor to our area may experience.

...
have the medical and trauma emergency equipment and supplies needed
to deal with prehospital emergencies.
~ From respiratory and cardiac conditions to emergency childbirth, we
have the necessary equipment and supplies. Something as simple as
administering oxygen or a minor medication can result in avoiding a
long-term disability, or even death, for some patients. We work hard to
stay current with knowledge; retain and improve techniques and skills
required to appropriately and effectively use our equipment to assist
our patients.

…
have an active and experienced emergency and prehospital care
medical director on staff that oversees all aspects of our training
and response.
~ He is Dr. Michael Levy, a well-known and respected emergency
physician, and he volunteers his time to lend us his expertise. Dr.
Levy is also the medical director for the Anchorage Fire Department,
the 510th Paratroopers, and other emergency medicine related
organizations.

… know the best way
to quickly get additional or specialized services to respond.
~ We keep up with the information on the EMS system and emergency
services offered in Alaska and on the Kenai Peninsula. Be it emergency
extrication, search and rescue or water related challenges - we know who
to call and when!

… are trained
to quickly gain access to the most appropriate means of
transport to definitive care.
~ We have the experience and knowledge to help ensure that
calls requiring transport, by land or air, are chosen
appropriately and do not unduly cause the patient financial
hardship. Not all patients require transportation by emergency
land ambulance or emergency air transportation. We use our
medical training, our protocols and our medical directors
guidance to determine the best means of available
transportation for your situation.

… care not only about your life, but the quality of your life.
~ the mission of Hope Sunrise EMS is like that of all EMS groups - ‘save
lives, do no harm’ - but equally important is our commitment to help
the patients return to a quality of life that is the same, or as close
as possible, to life prior to the emergency incident.

…
are there for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
~ we have a local and a mutual aid EMS system in place to ensure that
state certified or licensed emergency personnel will come when you call
for them. No muss, no fuss, no glory seekers… HSEMS responders work
daytime, nighttime, on holidays and birthdays, whenever you need us...
because we care!

Please, help put us out of business…Buckle up!
